City Collection – Shoalhaven Series
Arthur Boyd

FOYER AND ACCESS GALLERIES

With featured works from the Shoalhaven City Collection, we celebrate iconic Australian artist, Arthur Boyd and his special relationship with the Shoalhaven. These include a new acquisition for 2010, recently purchased by the Shoalhaven Arts Board, ‘Green Parrot over Shoalhaven’ which complements other prints from the Shoalhaven series. These works were earlier acquisitions and gifts from the Bundanon Trust to the City Collection, while the featured work, a large oil painting ‘Bird Smuggler and Cockatoos’, is on long-term loan.

This group of artworks showcases the City Collection by both representing a local Shoalhaven focus by a noted artist and highlighting the various methods by which works are acquired in a regional gallery collection.

Into the [B]Voyd | Daniel Kotja

GREEN GALLERY

A contemporary ‘derive’ with Arthur Boyd by Daniel Kojta. ‘Into the [B]Voyd’ will present a series of media installations by new media artist and curator, Daniel Kojta, produced on residency at Arthur Boyd’s property, Bundanon. The video and sculptural installations of ‘Into the [B]Voyd’ reference the artist’s wanderings throughout Bundanon while on residency, as a ‘derive by the contemporary flaneur’. The attraction of the terrain immerses the viewer in a timeless presence, a fold between the subjects of so many of Arthur Boyd’s paintings and the paintings themselves.
