Shoalhaven Woodcraft Society, Shoalhaven Potters
ALL GALLERIES
Creative Moments is an annual exhibition in its 18th year and is a joint activity of the Shoalhaven Woodcraft Society, the Shoalhaven Spinners and Weavers and the Nowra Potters. It is not a competitive enterprise, but gives local craftspeople, who are also members of those groups, the opportunity to exhibit their work to the community at large.
Under the heading ‘Wood, Wool, Clay’, Creative Moments brings together three complementary media which enhance and enrich each other. Many of the exhibited items will be for sale.

Courage to Care
Since 1999, ‘Courage to Care’ has been travelling New South Wales conveying a message of communal tolerance and living in harmony.
Developed by B’nai B’rith, the exhibition emphasises the importance of standing up against racism and persecution, especially in relation to minority groups. This is done by focusing on rescuers of Jews during the Holocaust and the brave people who put themselves at enormous personal risk to save others. Over-ridingly the exhibition celebrates the difference one individual can make. The lessons of these events are as relevant today as they were 60 years ago. School groups will engage with the exhibition through workshops with Holocaust survivors and trained facilitators.

The Potter Travels. Marcos Roa
FOYER GALLERY
An exhibition combining ceramic and photographic work by local artist Marcos Roa. Although ceramics is his first love, Marcos draws on the natural world for ideas, so the photographs accompanying them are both an expression of the artist’s creative output and the source of his inspiration for the ceramic forms. Exploring and recording new environs is a catalyst for fresh creative ideas.
Life and the Landscape. Diana & Laurie De Ville
ACCESS GALLERY
Life and the landscape in all their myriad forms have been the inspiration for husband and wife team Laurie and Diana de Ville. Laurie’s landscapes clearly reflect his deep love of the ‘grand vista’, while Diana’s art demonstrates her passion for the endless parade of life in all its variety. As the choices for inspiration in both cases are limitless, this is but a small range of all the possibilities they both hope to explore in the future
Beautiful Moments. Peter Edward
GREEN GALLERY
When something is so beautiful it takes your breath away, it is natural that we want to hold onto the memory for ever. This exhibition of oil paintings is the artist’s journey to capture beautiful moments when, through luck and timing, the light just for a brief instant transforms the image into a memory. Peter’s hope is for you to enjoy these beautiful moments he has captured and tamed, so they can be remembered for a lifetime.
