Celebrating the everyday things women do*

Presented in association with the Historic Houses Trust,  The Meroogal Women’s Art Prize is a regional non–acquisitive competition and exhibition across the fields of visual arts, crafts and design.

The theme for the 2008 Meroogal Women’s Arts Prize – Celebrating the everyday things women do – focuses attention on the everyday activities of the Meroogal women, activities to which they gave time and energy and which in return gave them meaning and purpose.
Women artists from the south coast and southern highlands are invited to explore Meroogal and then creatively respond to the theme through the lens of their own lives.

*Theme developed by Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales in collaboration with the Australasian Occupational Science Centre, University of Wollongong

Creative Moments is an annual exhibition in its 17th year and is a joint activity of the Shoalhaven Woodcraft Society, the Shoalhaven Spinners and Weavers and the Nowra Potters. It is not a competitive enterprise but gives to local craftspeople who are also members of those groups the opportunity to exhibit their work to the community at large.

Under the heading ‘wood, wool, clay’, Creative Moments brings together three complementary media which enhance and enrich each other. Many of the exhibited items will be for sale.
MAIN GALLERY

By Air and By Sea is an exhibition of photographs by the Royal Australian Naval Photographer Category. Complementing these works is a range of objects from the Fleet Air Arm Museum Collection.

This exhibition coincides with the Diamond Jubilee of the Australian Fleet Air Arm and the HMAS Albatross. The exhibition offers a unique exposé of the work of the Royal Australian Navy Photographer Category. Spanning the history of the Fleet Air Arm, the photographs and objects displayed offer an insightful and artistic view into the Royal Australian Navy ‘By Air and By Sea’.
